Urbandale Senior Squad Off to Near Perfect Start

The Urbandale girls enter the season as one of if not the best best girl's team on paper. In the first two races we have seen dominance from the J-Hawks, putting up 15 points in their first meet and 16 points in their second. In their first meet of the season, the Bobcat Invitational, the Urbandale girls swept the top seven spots. The top seven, all seniors, all finished within 48 seconds of their top runner, Trina Moreno who tied Julia Noah and Elyse Prescott with a time of 19:40.

It was a similar tale on Tuesday at the DCG Invitaitonal where Trina Moreno led the way once again for the J-Hawks. They had one blemish to their perfect score as Lexi Smith of DCG was able to edge out their fifth runner, Carly Klavins, by three seconds. While their 1-5 split was larger this meet, they still put on a show with their 2-3-4 runners all finishing within four seconds of each other.

They will be back in action Saturday at their home meet where they will face defending state champs, Johnston.
