Before Tyra Buss became Indiana University's all-time Women's leading scorer in basketball, she was a track and field star for Mt. Carmel located in southern Illinois. Buss, a former Ms. Basketball and state all-time scoring leader, excelled on the track in the hurdles and middle-distance. 2014 was Buss' swan song track and field season where she ran a personal best 43.99 and placed 4th in the 300H. Prior to the hotly ran final, Buss earned all-state honors in the 100HH (15.58) and 800 (2:18.00).
