The Scoop: An Emerging Sprinter, Potential Hurdle Greats And All-Time Performances

Indoor track is back!

But some athletes still aren't quite sure where they stand.

Consider the performance of Delta (UT) High senior Dallin Draper, a Brigham Young University signee who went a nation-leading 6.79 seconds at the BYU High School Indoor Invitational.

How are you feeling?

"I am feeling good. I'm excited. I've never been No. 1 in the country."

Were you surprised?

"It was a surprise. I'm pretty sure it's because not enough people have run it yet. But yeah, I'm proud of it. I'm excited."

Dallin, we're here to let you know that 6.79 60m is LEGIT!

A year ago, the winning time at New Balance Nationals Indoor was 6.73 by Manvel (TX) High graduate Caleb Jolivette. In fact, if Draper cuts just a couple seconds off that 60m (6.75 to be exact), he would land inside the top 50 all-time in the event.

But beyond Draper, we had a ton of great action across the country. Check out this week's Scoop to learn about some of the best storylines of the weekend.
