3 Maine athletes have advance to the Footlocker National Championship in San Diego in two weeks. On the boys side seniors Josef Holt-Andrews (Telstar) & Dan Curts (Ellsworth) finished 5th & 6th in the boys race, while Greely senior Kirstin Sandreuter grabbed the last spot in the girls race with a 10th place finish.
Holt-Andrews covered the historic 5k at Van Cortlandt park in 15:37 good for 5th, while fellow mainer Curts was a stride behind in 6th, 15:39.
The boys race was won by Mickey Burke (Henrietta, NY) IN 15:19.
Also running well from Maine were Cape Elizabeth's Liam Simpson who wax 29th overall covering the course in 16:24. Ellsworth's Brayden Beardsley was just a stride behind in 34th, 16:25.7
Kirstin Sandreuter finishing time was 18:06, 5 seconds clear of 11th place.
Anne McKee of Kents Hill finished 53rd, she covered the course in 19:46. Maddy Doyle of Marshwood was 79th, her time was 20:48. Hannah Austin of NYA crossed the line in 88th (21:02).
