DES MOINES -- The Louisiana Tech women's 4x400 meter-relay and freshman and Ruston High School product Larry Jones led the way in the finals Saturday on the final day of the prestigious 2008 Drake Relays.
Jones had the highest finish of the day with a throw of 172 feet, 9 inches in the men's discus finals for a fourth-place finish, while the 4x400 team of junior El Charrita Reynolds, sophomore Kamelia Stroy and freshmen Monique Wright and Shante Benion also placed fourth with a time of 3 minutes, 42.55 seconds.
Junior Michael Coleman also competed in the finals of the men's 100 with a final time of 10.61.
"This was a good weekend," Tech head coach Gary Stanley said. "It was good to get our kids up here to see some world class athletes."
Tech will return to action in three weeks for the 2008 Western Athletic Conference Championships in Boise, Idaho.
