AMES, Iowa - Iowa State third-year head coach Corey Ihmels and coaching staff welcomed a promising recruiting class for the 2009-10 season. A total of 27 future Cyclones are excited to be on campus for the fall semester. Ihmels and his coaching staff are very excited about the new additions to the team.

"In this years recruiting class I feel we have added very high quality athletes in all areas," Ihmels said. "We have a very young squad that is excited about the future and this recruiting class will be able to step right in. Not only have these athletes been very successful athletically, they are also great students in the classroom."

The Midwest proved to be the largest pool of talent for Iowa State, signing 13 athletes from Iowa, four athletes from Minnesota, two athletes from Kansas, and one athlete from Illinois, Missouri, Nebraska and North Dakota, respectively.

The Cyclones also brought in talent from both coasts of the United States, including three athletes from California and one athlete from Maryland. Here is a list of newly arrived Cyclone track and field athletes.
