22. Zionsville Community (IN)

Analysis: Indiana typically fights it out in-state for the prize of being the most talented girls program. That's all well and good, but the honor often bestows another corollary effect: A national ranking. And this year's top Indiana club may be Zionsville Community, which returns six of seven from the squad that finished second to Fort Wayne Carroll at the IHSAA State Cross Country Championships -- Fort Wayne brings back five, just for reference. What boosts Zionsville is its strength up front. Senior Katelyn Wasson returns after placing 15th at state last year, while sophomore Lydia Moore and seniors Sarah Peterson and Lauren Rinehart and Anna Settle fill out the ranks. The squad boasts an average aggregate time of 18:37.82 and a split of just 51 seconds. If the team can put those averages to practice, they'll be tough to beat.

Biggest question: Will Zionsville be Indiana's top dog?

The state produces fireworks every year between Carmel, Fort Wayne Carroll and Zionsville. On paper, this team should be better than its rivals. But cross country can be tricky. On a deceiving Terre Haute course, the Eagles will have to prove it.
