ST. LOUIS, MO. -- Drake senior Jeff Grassmeyer (Fremont, Neb.) has been named the Missouri Valley Conference athlete of the week in men's cross country.

Grassmeyer was the top MVC finisher at the Roy Griak Invitational in Falcon Heights, Minn., last Saturday.

He finished 31st out of 167 runners at the prestigious Roy Griak Invitational which was hosted by the University of Minnesota and featured eight nationally ranked top-20 programs.

This was considered the premier cross country meet of the past weekend.  Grassmeyer covered the 8,000 meter race in 25 minutes 29 seconds.
