AMES, IOWA -- Junior Tyse Samani (Kansas City, Mo.) tied for third in the high jump to highlight action for the Drake women's track and field team during the Iowa State Open Saturday. Samani leaped 5 feet 5 inches.

Junior Casey McDermott (Newton, Iowa) placed fifth in the mile in 5 minutes 4.7 seconds. Junior Katie Coomer (Overland Park, Kan.) placed 12th in the mile in 5:14.68.

Freshman Elle Yesnes (Hopkins, Minn.) was seventh in the women's 3000-meter non-seeded run in 11:26.74. Freshman London James (Adair, Iowa) finished 13th in 12:02.48.

Freshman Sarah Yeager (Ottumwa, Iowa) was ninth in the 60 hurdles in 9.26. Sophomore Kirsten Lake (Parker, Colo.) was 10th in the women's 600-yard run in 1:28.74.

Sophomore Megan Pierce-Cramer (Omaha, Neb.) was 15th in the women's shot put at 38 feet 10.5 inches.

Junior Kara McCartney (Elgin, Iowa) was 17th in the 400-meter dash in 59.96.

Freshman Cammy Dole (Anamosa, Iowa) was 23rd in the women's 800 in 2:26.60.
