LINCOLN, NEB. -- Junior Casey McDermott (Newton, Iowa) was third in the invitational mile to highlight action for the Drake women's track and field at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational Saturday.

McDermott was clocked in four minutes 58.17 seconds.

Junior Tyse Samani (Kansas City, Mo.) was fifth in the high jump, soaring five feet 7 inches.

Junior Clarissa LaFlora (Kewanee, Ill.) was 11th in the 600 yard run in 1:28.42.

Junior Kara McCartney (Elgin, Iowa) was fifth in the 800 in 2:16.02, while sophomore Kirsten Lake (Parker, Colo.) was 13th in 2:19.04.

Katie Coomer (Overland Park, Kan.)  was 12th in the mile in 5:16.96.

Senior Tara Scieszinski (Albia, Iowa) was 14th in the 3,000 (10:40.67) and senior Courtney Heinz (St. Paul, Minn.) was 18th (11:08.68).
