AMES, IOWA -- Sophomore Ben Jaskowiak (Madison, Wis.) placed 14th in the unseeded 3,000-meter run to highlight action for the Drake men's track and field team at the Iowa State Classic Friday. He was clocked in 8:58.65.

Junior Mike Bumgarner (Rosemount, Minn.) was 21st in 9:08.29. Sophomore Josh Busching (Washington, Mo.) finished 27th in 9:15.95, while freshman Mike Rodriguez (Chanhassen, Minn.) was 28th in 9:18.78 and sophomore Derek Campbell (Sycamore, Ill.) 32nd in 9:30.48.

Senior Anthony Pettaway (Colorado Springs, Colo.) was clocked in 22.59 seconds to place 67th out of 140 runners in the 200-meter dash. Sophomore Shaun James (Lawrence, Kan.) was 79th in 22.58, while freshman Dan Karys (Barlett, Ill.) was 105th in 23.03.
