Men's Track & Field Team Records Two Second-Place Finishes At Jim Duncan Invitational

DES MOINES, IOWA -- The Drake men's track and field team recorded two second-place finishes on the opening night of the Jim Duncan Invitational Friday at Drake Stadium.

Sophomore Derek Campbell (Sycamore, Ill.) was second in the 10,000 in 32 minutes 29.31 seconds. Junior Luke Schafer (Centennial, Colo.) was sixth in 33:17.14. 

Drake junior Colin Coomer (Overland Park, Kan.) was fourth in the 3,000 meter steeplechase in 10:00.28.

Drake junior Mike Bumgarner (Rosemount, Minn.) was 12th in the 5,000 in 15:29.97. Drake freshman Kevin Harp (Iowa City, Iowa) was seventh in the men's javelin at 152 feet and 13th in the men's shot put at 43 feet 9.75 inches and

Bethel senior Daniel Greeno closed out the Friday night session by setting a record in the men's invitational in 14 minutes  35.55 seconds, bettering the previous mark of 14:45.69 by Drake's Bill Sitton in 1991.
