DES MOINES, IOWA -- Drake seniors Josh Bangert (Washington, Mo.), Kevin Earl (Overland Park, Kan.) and Jeff Grassmeyer (Fremont, Neb.), along with sophomore Jon DeGrave (Lake Villa, Ill.) have been named to the Missouri Valley Conference Men's Track and Field Scholar-Athlete team.

The group was named for maintaining a minimum 3.20 grade-point average.

Bangert has a 3.20 grade-point average in pharmacy, while Earl owns a 3.44 grade-point average in marketing. DeGrave has a 3.58 grade-point average in finance and Grassmeyer has a 3.65 grade-point average in secondary education.

DeGrave won the 400 intermediate hurdles in a personal best time of 51.27 at the State Farm MVC Outdoor Track and Field Championships May 16 and will compete in  the NCAA Regional at Austin, Texas, this weekend.

Grassmeyer was third in both the 1,500 and 5,000-meter runs at the MVC Championship. He will compete in the 5,000 at the NCAA Regional.
