NEW ORLEANS, LA. -- Drake sophomore Jon DeGrave (Lake Villa, Ill.), has been named to the 2010 U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division I Men's Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field All-Academic Team.

DeGrave was named the outstanding men's track athlete of the 2010 Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships after winning the 400 intermediate hurdles in a personal best time of 51.27 seconds. He became just the fourth athlete in Drake history to win the league title in the 400 hurdles.

To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic team, a student athlete must have maintained a cumulative grade-point average of 3.25 and have met either the NCAA Division I indoor qualifying standard or the NCAA Division I Outdoor regional or national qualifying standard in their respective event.

DeGrave owns a 3.58 grade-point average majoring in finance.
