Men?s Track And Field Opens Indoor Season

The Drake men's track and field team will open its indoor season this Friday (Dec.10) competing at the Iowa State Holiday Preview. Field events will start at 2 p.m. and track events at 4 p.m. at the Lied Recreation
Center in Ames, Iowa. 

Last Year: Anthony Pettaway (Colorado Springs, Colo.) was fourth in the 300-meter dash (35.15) and fifth in the long jump to key the Drake men's track and field team in its season opening indoor meet at the 2009 Iowa
State Holiday Classic.

Pettaway leaped 21 feet 11.50 inches in the long jump and came back to anchor Drake to a third-place finish in the 4x300-meter relay in 2:23.25.

Shaun James (Lawrence,Kan.), Dan Karys (Bartlett, Ill.) and Jon DeGrave (Lake Villa, Ill.) also ran legs on the 4x300 relay.

Charlie Lapham (Golden Valley, Minn.) was fourth in the mile (4:25.13). 

Up Next: Drake will travel to Vermillion, S.D. on Jan. 15 to partake in the Alumni Meet hosted by the University of South Dakota. The event will be held at the DakotaDome.
