It gives me great pleasure to announce that two-time World Cross Country Championships gold medalist (and the only American male to ever win the World XC Championships) will be appearing at the First Annual SJA XC Relay Carnival on October 4, 2018 at the JCCC cross country course! Craig will be serving as the starter, awards presenter, posing for pictures, signing copies of his just-released biography, Virgin Territory and answering questions. Craig's appearance is made possible by a joint sponsorship between Saucony and Ad Astra Running in Lawrence, KS. Craig will also be giving a presentation following the meet about his extraordinary career which includes breaking Steve Prefontaine's HS 2M AR, making three U.S. Olympic Teams, winning two World Cross gold medals, setting multiple American records, becoming the first American man under 27:30 (missing the WR by six seconds in the process) and running 2:10 at the Boston Marathon, all despite being hospitalized much of his youth for a congenital kidney issue that he continued to battle through his world-class career. Parents and coaching staff member of participating teams will also be able to take part in a Put Yer Money Where Yer Mouth Is 4 x mile relay.
