DES MOINES -- Louisiana Tech's nationally renowned track and field squad will return to the track this weekend at arguably the most prestigious meet of the 2008 outdoor season at the Drake Relays.

Mason Finley (CO) started the weekend on a high note Thursday evening by throwing the shot put 65-05 for a U.S. #2 performance, while earning a U.S. #1discus performance in 211-10. DES MOINES -- The Louisiana Tech women's 4x400 meter-relay and freshman and Ruston High School product Larry Jones led the way in the finals Saturday on the final day of the prestigious 2008 Drake Relays.

DES MOINES -- Stinging cold and light precipitation stayed over Drake Stadium throughout the day Friday as Louisiana Tech was still able to send five athletes to the finals Saturday at the 2008 Drake Relays.
