RESULTS

When XC meet results are received by IOWATFXC.COM, they are uploaded to the website and presented at Coverage > Meet Results > Cross Country > 2012 > (meet).  They may also be accessed at Calendar > 2012 > Cross Country > (meet).

The results are then compiled to meet, division-event, place-athlete-team-time data lines in our huge results database.  From that database, athlete & team statistics, rankings, and virtual meets may be automatically generated.

STATISTICS

In IOWATFXC.COM, go to Teams > (your team) > Season’s Best > Cross Country – 2012 to see an example of your team’s automatically generated statistics.  Click on any athlete on your roster to see his/her stats.

RANKINGS

From results submitted and compiled, IOWATFXC.COM can perform automatically generated conference, division, state, and even national individual and team “rankings”, based on athletes’ best times*

For team rankings, go to Stats > XC Team Rankings > High School Girls/Boys.  Initially provided will be the state rankings.  For conference or division rankings, go to Show Advance Parameters, the drop-down League box, select the conference or division, and click on Refine.  The Returning box allows you to project to 2013 without graduating seniors.  [Note -  Switching directly between Girls and Boys within Team Scores assumes the same event (4000m vs. 5000m).  So go back to Stats > XC Team Rankings > High School Girls/Boys when changing between girls and boys.]

For athlete rankings, go to Stats > XC Individual Rankings > High School Girls/Boys > (select desired options; e.g. – Gender, League – conference/division, Locale – IA, National) > (event).

* -  For top 30 ranked athletes and 15 teams in each division, based on actual athlete/team placings in competitions, go to the Iowa Association of Track Coaches (IATC)’s rankings at IATFCC.ORG.  Click on these athletes and teams links for examples.

VIRTUAL MEETS

“Virtual Meets” allow you to run virtual meets against other teams.  Go to Stats > Virtual Meets > High School Girls/Boys > (select options; e.g. -  Gender, League – conference/division; or specific teams).  The team results will follow the individual results.

IMPORTANT NOTES!!

1.  “Based on athletes’ best times” is a key to interpreting these statistics, rankings, and virtual meets.  Athletes/teams running meets on fast courses in good weather conditiions will obviously have advantages here!!

2.  In order for athletes’ performances to be included in the IOWATFXC.COM database (to be available for statistics, rankings, and virtual meets), we must first receive complete results of each meet.  Meet managers and coaches -  make sure that you send complete results of your meets to IOWATFXC.COM at lknudson@milesplit.us
