25th Annual Cross Country Championships

Thursday, October 17th 2024

Location:The 2024 MRAC Cross Country Meet will be held at the Iowa Western Community College located in Council Bluffs, IA. Schools traveling south on I-29 will loop around Council Bluffs and take I-80 east toward Des Moines, exit at Highway 6/IWCC exit. Turn left until first light.  Turn left onto college road.  Take the first exit to the right into IWCC. 

Bus Parking:Buses may drop off athlete's and/or park in the lot in the northwest corner of campus, next to the fine arts/wrestling buildings.

Time Schedule:2:30pmCourse/gates open for teams/fans

4:305K HS Girls Race: Unlimited entries / Score top 5 toward team score,  next two displace.

5:155K HS Boys Race: Unlimited entries / Score top 5 toward team score, next two displace.

6:00Varsity Awards Ceremony/Results

Entries:Please use the registration link in Bound to enter your runners. When entering your roster, you do not have to declare who will run varsity or JV.  Entries open Saturday, October 3th at 8am and close Wednesday, Oct. 16th at 5pm.  Please enter anyone that might run.

Check In:Coaches will check in near the finish line and pick up info packets that will contain final instructions, team start positions for each race, & contestant race numbers. 

Running Course:Course Distances: All races will be 5000m.  The course will be clearly marked with a solid white line, along with a lead cart to guide the runners.  Races will be timed by FinishLynx, with bib numbers recorded as a back-up.  There will not be a chute, coaches are responsible for athletes that need attention after races.

Other Rules:Coaches are responsible for seeing that their competitors are wearing proper uniforms and that IHSAA / IGHSAU rules are adhered to.  Violations will result in disqualification of the competitor(s).

Awards: 7 team medals for B/G Team Champions; 

15 individual place medals B/G

Team Plate for B/G Team Champion.  

Warm-up:Teams may walk the course 2 hours prior to the first race.

Restrooms:Available on the grounds.
