DES MOINES, Iowa - The 2019 state co-ed track meet wrapped up its three-day run on Saturday here at Drake Stadium. Records were broken and champions were crowned.
Alburnett and Lansing Key each scored 36 points to tie atop the Class 1A girls standings. Mid-Prairie (2A), Glenwood (3A) and Waukee (4A) also claimed team championships in the girls' side.
George-Little Rock (1A), Dike-New Hartford (2A), Sergeant-Bluff Luton (3A) and West Des Moines Valley (4A) took home boys' titles.
A day after breaking the state record in the 400, Darien Porter anchored Bettendorf's recording breaking effort in the sprint medley relay. Austin Kalar, Carter Bell and Leo Desequeira helped him in posting a time of 1:30.92.
Valley's shuttle hurdle relay team of Marschel Parker, Urias Gbarjolo, Trajen Thornton and Jayden Williams established a new state mark, completing the race in 57.18.
