IOWA CITY, Iowa - The Dubuque Senior girls and the Cedar Falls boys raced to team victories Thursday afternoon in the MVC Divisional Meet here at the University of Iowa's Ashton Cross Country Course.
Seniors Lillian Schmidt (18:21) and Claire Edmondson (18:48) were the first two runners to cross the finish line in helping the Rams to 32 points. Their teammate, Izzy Gorton, came in fourth (18:57).
Iowa City High took second on the girls side, scoring 56 points, behind the third-place finish of Rowan Boulter (18:54) and Lilly Reynolds (19:14), who was sixth. Gabby Cortez (18:58) was fifth for third-place Cedar Rapids Prairie (57).
Brayden Burnett (16:06), Eli Smith (16:24) and TJ Tomlyanovich (16:27) finished second, sixth and seventh, respectively, in helping Cedar Falls (41) win the boys title. Jack Pendergast (15:44), Hunter Kalous (16:07) and Andrew Bickford (16:17) crossed the tape in first, fourth and fifth, respectively, for second-place Cedar Rapids Prairie (45).
Cedar Rapids Washington's Max Locher (16:06) was the third place individual, and Iowa City High (86) was the No. 3 team.
