WILLIAMSBURG, Iowa - The Mid-Prairie girls and Danville-New London boys ran to victory Thursday afternoon here at the Class 2A State Qualifying Meet.
Mid-Prairie's Danielle Hostetler continued her outstanding freshman season with a first-place finishing time of 18:47. Her teammates, Sydney Yoder (19:30)and Jaden Yoder (19:31), were third and fourth, respectively to help the Golden Hawks to 21 points.
Ruth Jennings (19:59) ended up fifth in helping host Williamsburg to a second-place spot with 49. Danville-New London's Addison Parrott (19:19) cross the finish line behind Hostetler in leading her team to third place (104).
Danville-New London's Ty Carr won the boys race in a time of 16:39, while teammate Alexander Julian (16:57) captured third for the champions, who scored 36. Mid-Prairie's Jamison Stutzman (16:46) claimed second place as did his team, which scored 59.
Williamsburg's Harrison Garber (17:13) led his team to third-place finish by coming in fifth. Camanche' Dylan Darsidan (17:05) was fourth.
