Admission:$6.00 - Adults and Students K-12th grade.  All tickets must be purchased beforehand on-line at the state website through HomeTown Ticketing.  Spectators will present their bar code at the ticket building to enter. There will be one card reader at the gate for debit and credit cards.  NO CASH SALES

Meet Director: Jeff Novotny, Abraham Lincoln

Starters/Referees:Starter: Tom Hartigan, Jeff Novotny (running events), Joel Nelson (FinishLynx), Cyle Forney/Mike Hale (field events). 

The meet referee has the authority, along with the starter, for ruling on infractions, except for false starts. Coaches may appeal to protest and appeal specific situations to the referee, including a misapplication of the rules within 30 minutes after the announcement of event results. Coaches cannot protest a judgment decision. The referees decision is final.

Facilities:The Fred Maher Team Building is on the south end of the stadium, team buses please enter the complex at 18th and Avenue G and take your immediate left, all team buses can be parked in the bus lane or Wilson MS parking lot.  Locker and Training rooms are located in the Maher Team Building.  Home locker room will be the boys, visiting locker room the girls.

Shot and Discus Rings are concrete.  All -weather composition surfaces for running, high jump, and long jump areas.  Coaches, please ensure that athletes use only 1/4 spike sizes.  400 Meter Track, Olympic Start w/ Common Finish Line, 8 lane straightway, 8 lane curves and backside.  Per state rule, we will allow tape on the track for relay exchanges.  Tennis balls and plastic strips are also permitted.  Please have someone immediately take the tape off the track at the completion of each relay race.  Starting blocks will be furnished.

Awards/Qualifying:Medals for the first 8 places in all events.  Team champions will be presented with a qualifying champion banner. The top two place winners in each event, plus the next twelve (12) best performances statewide from qualifying meet place winners (1st-8th place) will advance to the state meet. If there are ties, the highest qualifying meet place winner will be the qualifier. If the tie still remains, the school name, as used in the IHSAA Directory, will be used as the tie breaker. The first school name alphabetically will become the qualifier. There will be no more than 24 qualifiers in any event.

Scoring:Relays:10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1

Individual:10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1

Field Events: 3 preliminary trials for all contestants in shot, discus, and long jump.  Top eight contestants in prelims will advance to a final round for 3 additional trials.  Finals will be attempted in reverse order.  

High Jump:   Starting height for girls will be 46 and raised in 2 increments until 5 then the bar will be raised 1 thereafter.  Starting height for boys is 56 and raised in 2 increments until 6 then the bar will be raised 1 thereafter.

** All ties in scoring will be decided by National Federation Rule Book Guidelines.

Warm-Ups:Outside Lanes ONLY when available or on FieldTurf infield

Timing:FinishLynx FAT on all races.  Athletes must stay out of the flagged area by the finish line.  Races will be recalled if the timing system fails to go off with the starters gun.

Implements:Each school should provide their own legal implements for the shot, discus, and relay events. All throwing implements will be weighed and checked in between 2:30-3:15pm.  Weigh-ins will be in the officials room in the Fred Maher Team Building, then brought to the venue to warm up with.  

Uniform:IHSAA and IGHSAU rules will be enforced in regard to uniforms.

Contestant Entries:All contestants are limited to FOUR (4) Final Events  

  • ONE (1) entry per school in the relay events.

  • Only TWO (2) contestants may compete in an individual event per member school.  

  • All entries will be done on-line at their respective state website.  Entry deadline is Wednesday, May 8th at 10am.  

  • There will not be a scratch meeting at the state qualifying meet.  All scratches or substitutions must be sent by email to the qualifying meet host no later than 10am the day of the meet.  No substitutions will be allowed after that time.  Please email jnovotny@cbcsd.org.  Any scratches after 10am the day of the meet count as an event.

  • Coaches can pick up a meet program once they arrive at the stadium in the Fred Maher Team Building officials room.  The meet program will also be on-line soon after 10am the day of the meet.

Other 

General Information:Coaching should be from the stands, infield and/or other designated areas.   Coaches, for safety considerations,your cooperation is greatly appreciated by informing your athletes of theinherent danger near the discus and shot put competition areas, all coaches and fans must stay behind the flagged area..  Be certain that your athletes know where to find you or your assistants in the event of illness, accident, or injury.  We always appreciate the athletes of schools that deposit trash in the receptacles prior to leaving the stadium.

Please clean up your camps at the end of the meet.  We ask that you have your team camps in the stands or outside the track area.- No camps will be allowed on the football field.

Hospitality Room:Coaches will have a ticket for dinner from the concession stand and will be available to coaches and meet workers during the break (approximately 5:45pm).

Meet Results and Awards:Live Results here and awards available at the conclusion of the meet in the officials room.  Please check contents for accuracy prior to your departure.  Please do not ask for results or awards prior to the conclusion of the meet as this only creates confusion and unnecessary error.  Results will be emailed to each coach immediately after the meet.  Live results can also be found at the website.

Inclement Weather:No decision will be made until 12:00 noon Thursday May 11th.
