Jenks Sisters Star at Festival of Miles
Stephanie Jenks (freshman, Linn-Mar HS, Marion) won the high school mile (1st of 17, 4:47.42; 4:29.22 at 1500m) at the highly competitive Festival of Miles competition held at Saint Louis University High School, Saint Louis, Missouri, May 30. Sister Jennifer (8th grade, Linn-Mar MS), who will joint Stephanie on the Linn-Mar HS cross country team this fall, won the middle school mile (1st of 19, 5:25.68).
Other Iowan’s running in the meet were Anna Holdiman (senior, Waverly-Shell Rock), 4th in the high school girls mile (4:53.83; 4:35.83 at 1500m); and Jason Thomas (senior, Dowling Catholic HS), 12th of 16 in the high school boys mile (4:22.27; 4:07.60 at the 1500m).
