Check out the top girls teams in the state of Iowa as of September 22nd based on XC team scoring all of the 5K times currently in the MileSplit database for the 2016 season. The Johnston girls scored a major team victory this past weekend against national powerhouse Wayzata from Minnesota as well as many of Iowa's best programs at the Heartland Classic. The win was decisive by 43 seconds over Wayzata averaging 18:19 as a squad on the shortened and modified Iowa State cross country course (close to 3 miles).
