IOWA CITY, Iowa - Cedar Rapids Prairie's Andrew Bickford and Hunter Kalous finished first and second Tuesday in leading their team to a championship at the Iowa City West Invitational here at the Kickers Soccer Complex. The Prairie Hawk girls also claimed a title.
Bickford finished the race in 16:18 and Kalous in 16:34 for a Prairie outfit that scored 33 points. Marion took second with 67 and Iowa City West took third with 73.
Marion's Shane Erb (16:43) came in behind Bickford and Kalous. Cedar Rapids Washington's Ethan Stout (16:54) and Marion's Jedidiah Osgood (16:58) rounded out the Top 5.
The Prairie girls totaled 47 points to easily outdistance runner-up Dubuque Hempstead (74). Bettendorf finished third with 109.
Hempstead freshman Keelee Leitzen won the girls' individual title with a time of 19:43. Prairie's Gabby Cortez (19:50) grabbed second-place followed by Clinton's Camryn Sattler (19:55). Hempstead's Brooke O'Brien (20:02) and Keirra Hess (20:06) of Prairie came in fourth and fifth, respectively.
