Mid-Prairie Girls, Danville Boys Victorious

KALONA, Iowa - The Mid-Prairie Girls and Danville Boys claimed victory Monday afternoon over the field here at the Hillcrest Academy Invitational. Mid-Prairie's Danielle Hostetler captured individual honors in the girls race, while Ty Carr did the same on the boys side. 

Hostetler completed her race in 19:55 to outdistance her teammates, Jaden Yoder (20:01) and Sydney Yoder (20:02), who finished second and third, respectively. Danville's Addison Parrot (20:12) and Rowan Boulter (20:13) of Iowa City High rounded out the Top 5. 

Hostetler and the Yoders helped the Golden Hawk girls to a meet-best 27 points. City High (58) and Solon (72) were next. 

Carr ran the course in 17:02 to top second-place Alexander Julian (17:10), also from Danville. Mid-Prairie's Jamison Stutzman (17:24), Solon's Gabe Hinman (17:28) and Chase Lauman (17:29) of Pella crossed the finish line next. 

Danville scored 43 points in the victory to get by second-place Pella (49). Solon ended up a close third with 53.
