The outdoor track & field season has been electric in the Hawkeye State and with less than two weeks until the state ascends on Des Moines for the State Championships, let's take a look at some of the most recent top performances from across Iowa.

Sprint Events - Top Performers
Gage Tucker, Bettendorf - Tucker moved to IA #1 in the 400m dash after running 47.55 to win the MAC Championships, continuing a strong push as we enter the postseason after finishing 7th at the Drake Relays. He also doubled back for a runner-up finish in the 400m hurdles in 53.02, putting together one of the best all-around sprint performances of the week.
Cauy Konz, Treynor - Konz stayed undefeated in the 200m dash, running a state-leading 21.22 for his third win of the season in the event. He's also sitting inside the top 10 statewide in both the 100m dash and 110m hurdles.
Katie Willits, Waukee - Willits took over the state's top spot in the 200m dash after running 24.02 for her first win of the season in the event. She now leads the state in both the 100m and 200m dashes heading into the championship season.
Morgan Karr, Valley - Karr extended her unbeaten streak in the 100m hurdles to eight straight wins, continuing a dominant season that includes a Drake Relays title. Sitting US #51 in the event, she's emerged as the clear favorite heading toward the state meet.
Tatum Miller, Bettendorf - Miller closed the gap on the state lead in the 400m hurdles, running 62.61 to win the MAC Championships for her third victory of the season. She also added a 3rd-place finish in the 100m dash to cap off a strong day.
Blake Ludwig, Waukee Northwest - Ludwig ran 14.10 in the 110m hurdles, moving to IA #4 and finishing less than half a second off the state lead. With two wins already this season, he looks ready for a strong run at state next week.

Field Events - Top Performers
Byron Christianson, Vinton-Shellsburg - Christianson picked up his seventh discus win of the season at the Independence Invitational and recently threw a personal best of 174-3 at the Reb Relays. He now sits 8th in the state and continues to trend up as we enter the final days of the regular season.
Lena Bruening, Ankeny - Bruening jumped a personal best of 18-7 to win the long jump at the DSM Valley Meet, collecting her third win of the season. She also finished runner-up in the 200m dash and currently ranks 4th in the state in both events.
Distance Events - Top Performers
Kuma Gutema, Sioux City North - Gutema swept the 800m, 1,600m, and 3,200m at the MRAC Championships, putting together the top distance performance of the week. He also ran a 4:14 personal best in the 1,600m the week prior, which now puts him at an IA #6.
Laura Streck, Van Meter - Streck ran a season-best 10:00 to win the 3,000m at the WCAC Conference Meet and also captured the 1,500m title. The 1,500m victory marked her fourth win of the season in the event as she continues to build momentum into postseason competition.
