Braydee Poore, senior, Mount Ayr HS
PR’s:  HJ – 6’6”, 110m HH – 15.4

 

1.      When & how did you get started in track & field?

In the seventh grade, all my friends were going out for track; so I went out and was pretty successful.  I stuck with it through high school.

2.      Person/people most influential to your success in track & field?

My head coach Brad Elliot is the key person in my success as an athlete; not just track, but every sport I am involved in. 

3.      Your favorite track & field event(s)?

High Jump and 110 high hurdles are my favorites. 

4.      Your track & field event coach(es)?

Head coach Brad Elliott and assistant Kurt Wallace.

5.       Keys to your successful track & field training program?

The coaching staff and the knowledge they bring to the team.  Coach Elliott, being a former collegiate track athlete, knows how to train us; and we have a team culture with a lot of guys that push themselves to extreme limits to get better.

6.      Your favorite track & field meet(s)? 

Drake Relays, State meet, and the District meet are my favorites. 

7.      Track & field athlete(s) you most enjoy competing against? 

Hunter Vanhaalen was a fun guy to high jump against because he was very talented

8.      Most memorable experience in track & field so far? 

I would have to say winning the State high jump title my sophomore year.

9.      Greatest accomplishment(s) in track & field so far?

Second place in the high jump at the Drake Relays my junior year and winning the State title my sophomore year would have to be my top two.

10.  Goals for the 2013 track & field season? 

Compete in high jump at the Drake Relays and finish top five, and be the 2A high jump State champion and compete in the 110 high hurdles at State. 

11. If a senior, college/university you will attend, or schools you are considering?

I am considering William Penn, Central, and the University of Missouri Kansas City. 

       12.  Long-term goals in track & field? 

 Compete in college and reach my full potential as a track athlete.
