1.      When & how did you get started in track & field?

I started running track in junior high, but have always loved long distance running.  However, I played volleyball my freshman year.  After a fun year in track the next spring I decided to switch over to XC my sophomore year.

2.      Person/people most influential to your success in track & field?

My coach, Don Williams is the key to my success.  I could honestly not ask for a better coach!  He keeps me motivated and excited about my training and answers all of my endless questions about workouts.  He challenges me everyday at practice; and his passion for running is contagious.  My parents and sister are also very supportive, and help keep me motivated.  They make many sacrifices for my training schedule.

3.      Your favorite track & field event(s)?

3000m and 1500m

4.      Your track & field event coach(es)?

Don Williams

5.       Keys to your successful track & field training program?

Lots of hard word during the off-season.  I am on a high-mileage training schedule along with weekly cross training sessions in the pool.  I also do core strength training.  As we get farther into the season my coach adjusts my mileage and designs workouts to put the team where we need to be for the next meet.

6.      Your favorite track & field meet(s)?

Drake Relays and State

7.      Track & field athlete(s) you most enjoy competing against?

Anna Holdiman from Waverly!  She is an awesome competitor and faith driven runner.  I also enjoy running against Lauren Benzing from Solon!  She is also a great competitor and faith driven runner.

8.      Most memorable experience in track & field so far?

2012 Drake Relays 3000m. My coach and I decided that I would be more aggressive than normal in regards
to pace during the first laps.  I ended up holding on to the pace and setting a huge PR.

9.      Greatest accomplishment(s) in track & field so far?

State 3000m race.  This was the first time I had ever won a State race.  I had come very close in cross country
and track in the previous years, so it felt so good to finally get a win and be a state champion.

10. Goals for the 2013 track & field season?

To remain healthy and injury free, top 3 at State and Drake in the 3000m and 1500m, and set some new PRs!

11. If a senior, college/university you will attend, or schools you are considering?

I will be running cross country and track for the University of Alabama next year! Roll tide. (:

      12.  Long-term goals in track & field?

Continue to develop my passion for long distance running, and have a successful college running career.
