1.      When & how did you get started in track & field?

I first started running track in 6th grade.  I ran two meets for Isaac Newton Christian Academy and loved it.

2.      Person/people most influential to your success in track & field?

My parents have definitely been a big factor in my running career.  They have supported me nonstop and have come to just about every meet.

3.      Your favorite track & field event(s)?

I love the 3200.  It is the perfect mix between distance and speed, and it will punish you if you race it the wrong way.  I also love the open 4x400 relay.  It provides a great opportunity to work on my speed, as well as being a really fun experience.

4.      Your track & field event coach(es)?

The distance coach is Kyle Hoffman, and the head coach is Ken Hopkins.  Coach Hoffman is also in charge of the middle school cross country team, so we have been together for a long time.

5.       Keys to your successful track & field training program?

I like to dream big.  I think that, combined with my work ethic and phenomenal coaching, is the recipe that makes me the runner that I am today. Workout wise, we do mile repeats every other week that I just love to do.

6.      Your favorite track & field meet(s)?

Nothing can match the atmosphere of the Drake Relays. It’s so exciting to see that many great athletes and spectators all together in one place. The Forwald Relays in Iowa City has always been good to me as well.

7.      Track & field athlete(s) you most enjoy competing against?

I love racing everybody.  I get the opportunity to race Mitch Pritts from Prairie and Isaac Jensen and Daniel Gardarsson from Iowa City West a lot, which I really enjoy.  We have all known each other for awhile, so we are pretty good friends.

8.      Most memorable experience in track & field so far?

I think my best memory of track so far was taking third place as a team freshman year.  It was so cool seeing the whole team work together and achieve that goal.

9.      Greatest accomplishment(s) in track & field so far?

One of my favorite accomplishments was running the “iron man” at the district track meet my sophomore year.  I ran the 3200, the 1600, and anchored the distance medley relay all in the same night.  I was exhausted by the end, but I enjoyed every second of it.

10. Goals for the 2013 track & field season?

My only goal is to run my heart out in every single race.  I don’t want to hold anything back.  At the end of every race, I want to be able to look back and say that I left it all out there, that I had nothing left to give.

11. If a senior, college/university you will attend, or schools you are considering?

(a junior)

      12.  Long-term goals in track & field?

My only goal is to run my heart out in every single race. I don’t want to hold anything back. At the end of every race, I want to be able to look back and say that I left it all out there, that I had nothing left to give.
