A Busy Summer at the Blue Oval

The Jim Duncan Track is going to be gearing up for a full summer in 2018. The season will start out with the 3 annual meets-- the Jim Duncan Invitational, the Drake Relays, and the Iowa State High School T&F Championships. Outside of those exceptional meets, Des Moines will be flooded with track and field athletes and fans from all over the country for the USATF Outdoor Championships from June 21-24. With Olympic athletes, American record holders, World record holders, and track fanatics filling Drake Stadium, the Blue Oval will continue to build on it's impressive history.

Another exciting event coming to Drake Stadium this summer is the AAU Junior Olympic Games. This is a fun event that always draws large crowds of people. Let's all take a cue from Mike Jay...

This is a chance for the Des Moines metro and local track and field fans to show why we should have more of these big events at the Blue Oval!
