1.      When & how did you get started in track & field?

I started track with the MVTC (Mississippi Valley Track Club) when I was 10.  I hated running at first; but it’s grown to be a huge part of my life.

2.      Person/people most influential to your success in track & field?

All of my coaches are great, and each one helps me in a different way.  My club coach, Ben Hlbert, has been the key to my success in this sport.  He’s always believed in me, and pushes me to achieve any goal I set.  I know whatever I want to accomplish, he’s behind me 100%

My high school coach, Kenny Wheeler, is just plain awesome.  He makes me laugh, and adds excitement to practice!  My other high school coach, Jane Wheeler, keeps the whole team functioning together as a unit, and reminds us how important it is to be supportive of one another!

3.      Your favorite track & field event(s)?

The 800m is by far my favorite event!

4.      Your track & field event coach(es)?

Ben Hulbert, Kenny Wheeler, & Jane Wheeler

5.       Keys to your successful track & field training program?

My training requires me to give my absolute 100% every practice.  I don’t have any easy days when I practice.  I don’t miss any practices either, and I don’t go on vacations.  I spend every day of the summer practicing in the 100 degree weather at times, and honestly don’t mind it one bit.  I enjoy what I do, and I wouldn’t change a thing.

       6.      Your favorite track & field meet(s)?

USATF and AAU Nationals!

7.      Track & field athlete(s) you most enjoy competing against?

Mahnee Watts and Rebekah Topham.  They’re both supportive, and I appreciate a good challenge.

8.      Most memorable experience in track & field so far?

That’s a tough one; there’s too many to name!

       9.      Greatest accomplishment(s) in track & field so far?

USATF National Champion, 2012, 800m
AAU National Champion, 2010, 800m

10.   Goals for the 2013 track & field season?

To qualify and go to IAAF Youth Worlds in Ukraine.  Have a great performance at the Drake Relays and the high school state meet.

11.   If a senior, college/university you will attend, or schools you are considering?

N/A

       12.   Long-term goals in track & field?

To break the high school national record as a junior with a time of 1:59.0.  To win NCAA college nationals, and qualify for the 2016 Olympics.
