2. Allen Gordon, Omaha North (NE) High, senior
Gordon, a Nebraska native and two-time state champion in the high jump, arrives in Iowa -- as one of the few athletes traveling from out-of-state -- following a state championship in 2016 at a height of 6-9. But his career best appeared the year before at state when he leapt to a mark of 6-11. The former basketball player only stepped foot on the track after a coach saw him dunking in practice, per the Omaha World-Herald. Gordon also owns a PB of 22-2.75 in the LJ, where he also won a state championship in 2016.
